When you get to the Research Office and need to do some math to calculate the 3 numbers you need to enter into the computer to receive the Multiphasic Resonator: Instead of paying 5,000 Essence to the Guard, click the images for XYZ that appear on your screen for an instant answer!
Interact with the X, Y and Z laptops, then return to the Research Office, use the computer and select which notes appear on your screen:

It's simple to figure out, but very difficult to do quickly in co-op. Singleplayer with pauses is fine.
The X, Y and Z shapes correspond to the ones on the left board.
Find the X shape, and look to the left, horizontally. It should be (in the case of the image at the top of the page) 1. Then look down vertically from that same image, and find the next number. It's also a 1. Put the two numbers side-by-side and you have your new number: 11.
The same goes for Y. In the image it's in the bottom right, and has 2 and 0 as it's numbers; so 20.
And Z is in the top right, with 0 and 0, so it's just 0.
Then… The math.
Using those numbers, look to the right board and just replace x, y and z with their values (that we just figured out).
The above example would turn:
2x + 11(2z + y) - 5|(y + z) - x|
into
2(11) + 11(2(0) + 20) - 5|(20 + 0) - 11|
The |'s of the last number mean absolute. This means if it's negative, make it positive anyway.
This would give us: 33, 15, 9. This should be the same as the calculator if you punch in the example image.
Simple, hey? Not so much with a hoard of zombies behind you swarming your teammates. Better with keeping just one crawler alive while you work stuff out.
